He found a tent that had a netted ceiling you could see the stars through.
Thank you, CR, for making that night so special for them.
The night was darker than they expected, and Charlie and Viv were a little nervous about the strange noises all around them. They were in the northern edge of a pasture, close to a creekbank. Despite it being the first time they had ever slept outside, and the unfamiliarity of it all, they toughed it out and fell asleep, confident with their daddy right next to them. They didn't want to miss out on their opportunity to have an adventure with their daddy. So courageous, even at that age. That describes my cotton headed angels, Charlie and Viv. I love and admire you both so much.
This makes me realize afresh how brief my time is on this earth with my husband , my children, my future grandchildren... How rapidly the time is disappearing to run the race God has set before me. Will I be disqualified before I finish?
Will I ever overcome and hear "Well done, good and faithful servant..?" Will God get tired of me and say "This girl is never going to get it!" and just pull the plug?
It urges me to run from the superficial... to fear the ceaseless activity that will keep me from turning my attention to Christ and those around me that are hurting.
I have to be intentional about keeping my eyes open to Satan' s long list of alternatives to being still and quiet before the Lord.
Like Charlie and Vivi, I don't want to miss an adventure....
